Discussion comparing navigation using teleporting and wand-based navigation

By using wand-based navigation, my brain was able to adjust slowly to the changes of surrounding environment. However, whenever I used teleporting, sometimes, I get slight headaches. It's because of the sudden change of things around me.

I would much prefer just walking with the VIVE headset on ( even though there are not much space within the room to move around ). I feel more immersed into the world , plus, there are no headaches.

discussion of how the virtual room 'feels' to you compared to the actual room

They do not feel the same, obviously. Since the objects that I used were not as realistic as the real ones. Also, the physics within the virtual room was, once again, not realistic. I was able to pick up a chair with ease via the wand controller.

Another thing to consider is the audio cues. The sounds were not "3D" and surround. As I turn my body around, the sound remain the same - no changes in left ear nor right ear volume.

Sound cues, physic cues and textures cues are very hard to replicate in the virtual world compare to the real world
